*Curriculum mapping MUST be up to date
*Wiki under Atlas Mapping (references)- need to post notes from meeting
*Discussed level progression in maps from grade to grade
*Interdisciplinary lessons
-need to use words/language (terminology) that can be picked up in maps (a universal school language)
eg. sportsmanship/ethical behavior
It would be AWESOME if the mapping could pick up synonyms of words when searching - eg. sportsmanship and ethical behavior are synonymous but the mapping program does not recognize synonyms
There should be something in the system suggesting another word - if you search for ethical behavior - the computer should say - do you mean sportsmanship?
Under references/grade level meetings - we will use the "buzz" words from here on out in our maps
HOWEVER - do not be too wordy in your mapping
Interdisciplinary is one of our goals - how can we reach this goal? We can be flexible, but how do we do this when other disciplines need EVERY minute of their teaching time to get through their curriculum.
We already do an interdisciplinary project with Science - Resting pulse rate/Recovery pulse rate (7th grade) - however it is not in the map because it is a 2 day activity. How do we include this in the map? Overlap?
Discussion of how interdisciplinary lessons are shown in maps - especially if they are less than a week - if they are not a full unit, but a special activity.
